The Backyardigans!
It is so fun that this year Drew is old enough to keep up with Dylan. Big brother, Dylan has been so patient waiting on his little brother to be big enough to play. Drew is holding his own, running right behind him!
Here recently, I have been able to let the boys out in the back yard to play. I envision many spring days out back watching these boys play....my little Bolton Backyardigans! :)

Easter Fun!
What a weekend! We had a wonderful time celebrating Jesus, the risen Savior! I hope you had a blessed Easter as well.
For the entire month of March Dylan has beeb asking, "Is it Easter yet?" Lol! Last weekend we went to a helicopter egg drop. It was so fun & the boys had a blast. See pictures below.
We spent the week leading up to Easter reading about the events that lead up to Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. It's a lot to teach a child, but so important to teach the true meaning....and trust me, they are listening.
Just think, every time you read a Bible story, sing songs, or say bedtime prayers with your children, seeds of faith are being sown into their little lives for eternity! Keep pouring into them!
Here's a few pictures of us from Easter. What a blessing it is to share the love of Christ with my children this Easter. Let us all come with child-like faith to Jesus.

Cosby Kind of Night
This morning Dylan woke up & randomly asked if we could watch The Cosby Show and eat popcorn as a family tonight! That kid is hilarious. He's only watched it one other time. I couldn't believe he remembered it, but he did! That was an easy request to fulfill & we enjoyed it. He was really into it, too. :)
What is it about The Cosby Show that transcends generations? Is it the love of family, a house that's a home, the laughter, the grace, the jokes, the stability, the comfort? I would like to think maybe that's why Dylan likes the Cosby Show? There's something innate about everyone wanting to belong and dwell in loving relationships with others.
I am passionate about family and the home because, doesn't it all start at home? There's a saying in Spanish, "la familia es lo mas importante," the family is the most important! They're on to something, I think. :)
God has given us the blessing of family. Even if it is a difficult family, His design of family was so that we may experience the blessing of unconditional love, grace, nurture, and community.
Then there's the family of God one is adopted into after placing trust in Christ. The family of God is like no other! Are you a member of the family? (Contact me if you have questions. I would love to share with you how to be in the family)
I am grateful to God for my earthly family! We may not be The Cosby's, but we're blessed to be The Boltons.

Brotherly Love
Spring is in the air! I love the changing of the seasons, don't you? It was a beautiful spring-like day yesterday at 85 degrees!
We took advantage of the weather and went for a walk--Drew in the stroller, & Dylan walking by my side. I looked down to see my boys holding hands. Isn't that sweet? I quickly grabbed my phone and took a picture. Moments like these I want to burn on my heart and memory of my boys loving on each other & sharing brotherly love!
Scripture tells us our lives are but a vapor. We are here today and gone tomorrow. Sounds so somber, I know, but we are wise if we learn to embrace each day God gives us as a blessing it truly is.
I'm grateful for sweet moments like yesterday, and will treasure them always.

One thing is needed
This year I want to be more intentional about spending quiet time with the Lord. So often I allow the pressures of my day take over. However, I am learning only one thing is needed:
"Seek first the kingdom of heaven and it's righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." Matthew 6:33
Sadly, I have a had a hard time prioritizing my relationship with Christ, and I have suffered for it...and so has my sweet family. You see, my family doesn't just need for every dish to be clean in the sink, or for my floors to be freshly mopped. Sure, those things are important to the upkeep of my home, but it must not be replaced by what's most important--my relationship with Christ.
If I want to be a blessing to my husband and children, I must first allow the Spirit of the Living God to fall fresh on me and renew my soul.
I'm grateful for communion with the Lord and I pray you too will quiet your heart to hear from the Lord.
Remember, only one thing is needed....

Twins
Here is a side by side picture of Dylan at 1 year old (left) and Drew (right) at 1 year old:
Since I haven't posted in a while, here's a picture of Dylan on his 3rd birthday back in December 2012:
Wow! They are growing up fast. I remember holding both of these boys as newborns, dreaming of what they will look like as toddlers. I pray the Lord bless me and DeLario with many years ahead of us to watch them grow from boys to men! :)

Time Flies
Speaking of blessings, the Bolton family has indeed been blessed! We have welcomed the birth of our second son, Drew Aiden Bolton into our family. He was born a year ago on February 17, 2012. We affectionately call him, "Drew Baby!"
I love this picture. It was taken soon after I gave birth to Drew. Big brother, Dylan was only 2, so I'm not quite sure if he knew what was going on, but over the last year it has been so fun watching Dylan & Drew develop a bond as brothers. My sweet husband, DeLario has been such a blessing in my life, too. First, by his sacrificial love to me, & second as a loving & devoted father to our sons. It is a joy to watch him grow in his role as a husband & father. Oh, & I love the way he is looking at me in this picture. I feel specail and loved. Thank you, Jesus. :)
