Cosby Kind of Night

This morning Dylan woke up & randomly asked if we could watch The Cosby Show and eat popcorn as a family tonight! That kid is hilarious. He's only watched it one other time. I couldn't believe he remembered it, but he did! That was an easy request to fulfill & we enjoyed it. He was really into it, too. :)

What is it about The Cosby Show that transcends generations? Is it the love of family, a house that's a home, the laughter, the grace, the jokes, the stability, the comfort? I would like to think maybe that's why Dylan likes the Cosby Show? There's something innate about everyone wanting to belong and dwell in loving relationships with others.

I am passionate about family and the home because, doesn't it all start at home? There's a saying in Spanish, "la familia es lo mas importante," the family is the most important! They're on to something, I think. :)

God has given us the blessing of family. Even if it is a difficult family, His design of family was so that we may experience the blessing of unconditional love, grace, nurture, and community.

Then there's the family of God one is adopted into after placing trust in Christ. The family of God is like no other! Are you a member of the family? (Contact me if you have questions. I would love to share with you how to be in the family)

I am grateful to God for my earthly family! We may not be The Cosby's, but we're blessed to be The Boltons.

Brotherly Love

Spring is in the air! I love the changing of the seasons, don't you? It was a beautiful spring-like day yesterday at 85 degrees!

We took advantage of the weather and went for a walk--Drew in the stroller, & Dylan walking by my side. I looked down to see my boys holding hands.  Isn't that sweet? I quickly grabbed my phone and took a picture. Moments like these I want to burn on my heart and memory of my boys loving on each other & sharing brotherly love!

Scripture tells us our lives are but a vapor. We are here today and gone tomorrow. Sounds so somber, I know, but we are wise if we learn to embrace each day  God gives us as a blessing it truly is.

I'm grateful for sweet moments like yesterday, and will treasure them always.
